Christmas Wine Glasses

Inspired by the 19th-century poem, these four stemless wine glasses each have their own detailed artwork: a Christmas tree, nutcrackers, Santa's sleigh, and Santa himself. They are all topped with 24K gold rims.

Since these beautifully pink hued glasses don't have a holiday motif, you can technically use them all year round! Talk about versatile. But we love them for Christmas for just a little pop of added color.

How elegant are these balloon wine glasses? They are etched with holly leaves and golden berries with a delicately polished gold rim. You'll want to celebrate with this stunning set of four for years to come.

There are many different types of christmas wine glass sold by sellers on Etsy. Some of the popular christmas wine glass available on Etsy include: christmas wine glass svg, and christmas wine glasses.

(looking for the glitter spray CLICK HERE for where I purchase mine, Looking for the yellow wiggle eyes CLICK HERE) Make sure your glasses are clean then simply spray them with the glitter spray and let dry for 24 hours. Once dry you can embellish them any way you want. I used hemp for the stem on Santa along with ribbon and a gold pipe cleaner (chenille stem), the simple Elf used ribbon and a gold pipe cleaner (chenille stem) and red felt, for the detailed Elf face I used felt for the ears, a dash of posh pink for the cheeks and used a sharpie for the face. The gingerbread man I used paint pen, sharpie, buttons and a ribbon, penguin I used felt, pom poms, chenille stems, and wiggle eyes, for the snowman buttons and ribbon for a scarf, for Rudolf simply a glitter pom pom and pipe cleaner antlers, and the Grinch some feathers, wiggle eyes and a sharpie for the face. The Christmas mouse I used a chenille stem for the tail, pink pom pom for the nose, sharpie for the face and felt for the ears and teeth. We had these adorable Christmas bells at my work so I tied some to the glasses just for a little extra. All Items where glued on with hot glue or basic craft glue (I use Tacky Glue for my craft glue). Penguin Tip: For the penguin and the owl I sprayed the inside of the glass white (or you can do a coat of white on the outside), then cut out of paper the shape of the belly (wet the paper and lay on the glass, over the white area) while the paper is damp it sticks to the glass long enough to spray the black over top, once dry you can easily removed the paper and the white underneath will show through.

In our opinion, all holidays deserve their own wine glasses and accessories. While these Nightmare Before Christmas wine glasses might work for both Halloween and Christmas, you might be looking for other ideas. Find more holiday specific wine glasses here:

Adhesive vinyl works perfectly to make disposable, flexible stencils for the curved surfaces of etched wine glasses. I cut mine on on a Cricut Maker 3, but you can use any Cricut cutting machine, as long as the designs will fit on the green StandardGrip machine mat you have.

All the designs are sized for a standard 750 ml wine bottle and a 12 oz stemmed wine glass. The Christmas wine bottle design is approximately 9.3" wide by 6.5" tall. The Christmas wine glass design is approximately 7.5" wide by 2.7" tall.

There are also eight 1" wide snowflakes that you can choose to add separately around the neck of your wine bottle and the base of your wine glass. If you don't want to use all the additional snowflakes, you can select one or more of them in the Layers Panel and remove them by clicking "Delete" at the top.

I'll show you some customization steps for the Christmas wine glass design. You can follow the same steps to customize the star in the center of the Hanukkah wine glass design. The butterflies design is ready to cut as is!

If you look at the wine glass design at the bottom of the file, you'll notice there are two strings of lights with a blank space in between them. This is where we'll put our text! Start by clicking UnGroup at the top of the Layers Panel if you haven't already. Next, click the Text icon on the left hand side of the screen. A box with "Text" highlighted in it will appear on the Canvas. Without clicking anything else, type in the text you want. I'll use "Greg" for this glass.

Once you're happy with the placement, hold Shift and click the wine glass design and the text you just added. Then, click "Attach" below the Layers Panel to ensure the text cuts in the correct spot on your stencil.

To prepare your wine bottle and glass for good vinyl adherence, wipe them with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth or coffee filter. This will remove any dust or oils that will make the vinyl stick less. Then, set them aside to let them dry and avoid handling them with your bare hands.

Here's what my finished etched wine glasses and glass bottles look like. I just love them, especially the bottles with fairy lights inside! This is a great way to create beautiful home decor for the holidays -- or anytime! -- using some of those empty wine bottles you may have sitting around. And a set of wine glasses would make a great gift!

Imagine decorating your home with purple and green linens topped with decorative wine bottles. Even your tree ornaments can have a wine theme, perhaps round balls embossed with wine labels or grape-shaped ornaments. You might even add purple tree lights to complete the effect. Opening the wine you'll be serving a little in advance of the first guest's arrival helps to make serving easier. You can keep the wine fresh by corking them with festive holiday stoppers.

Wine also makes a well-appreciated gift for most anyone on your gift list, from your office assistant to your father-in-law. Make your gift look special by enclosing it in a decorative fun or elegant wine sack or bag.

November 2021 Update: I love that my readers are still throwing Christmas wine parties 6 years after I originally posted this in 2015! This year I updated this post with new tips for throwing the best wine party, including adding a gift swap, a wine tasting, plus recipe ides.

For white wine, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon blanc are most popular. Riesling and Moscato are sweet wines that not everyone will love, but they're a good option for beginning wine drinkers.

You can let them use one wine glass, or you can use these wine flight boards for a smaller party. Put out a bucket or bowl for people to dump any wine they don't like (or have a clean sink available!)

Lastly, stand the wine glass upside down and paint bowl area around the stem and include a few dips down the bowl to mimic snow falling down the glass. Pour faux snow over the upside down glass to cover the Mod Podge. Shake off any excess snow.

Add glue to the rim of your wine glass. I used a q-tip to easily cover the rim of the glass with glue. Turn the wine glass upside down and place it on to the wood slice. Remove any batting material that sticks out from under the glass by pulling it or you could probably use scissors to snip any excess strands. 041b061a72
